New blue pigment draws interest from artists, industry

Mas Subramanian, OSU Professor of Chemistry and ONAMI’s first Signature Researcher, discovered a new type of durable, environmentally-benign blue pigment that displays unusual characteristics in reflecting heat – it’s a “cool blue” compound that could become important to the visual arts and energy conservation alike. 

In the October 2014 issue of Terra magazine, which highlights OSU's research news and breakthroughs, author Nick Houtman describes the discovery itself and applications for this new pigment.
