Commercialization

ONAMI was created to cultivate research and commercialization as a means to advance the leading economic sector in Oregon, and expand the benefits of technology innovation to traditional and natural resource industries.

Our commercialization program is designed to bring Oregon technologies to the marketplace and support the companies behind them. We focus on the critical early stages of technology commercialization where a GAP between research and product often leaves potentially successful enterprises in the so-called "valley of death".

We work with Oregon University researchers, technology transfer offices, aspiring entrepreneurs and development parters to determine the success factors, both technical and business oriented, which lead to commercialization.

Since it's inception, our Gap Program has provided $2M in grants to grow micro- and nano based businesses in Oregon, and brought nearly $15M in related investments and grants into our portfolio companies.

The ONAMI Gap Fund and Commercialization Program is managed by Dr. Jay Lindquist of Technology Business Development, LLC.  To learn more about the Gap Program, requesting funding, or our portfolio companies, see the other pages in this Commercialization section of the ONAMI web site, or contact Jay directly at jml@technologybusdev.com.
