The Series A round was led by New York-based Lucas Brand
ONAMI portfolio company Dune Sciences has closed a $4.3M Series A financing to fuel further growth in their highly successful line of cleaning products.
The Series A round was led by New York-based Lucas Brand Equity and included Safer Made, a venture firm that backs products that remove chemicals in consumer products; 32 Ventures; and Ad Ventures, the investment arm of ad agency Harmon Brothers.
The capital will be used to expand the product line and the company’s e-commerce channels, the company said in a news release.
Dune makes the brand Defunkify a line of detergent and cleaning products. The products and the company are based on work by chemistry researchers at the University of Oregon who work in surface chemistry and engineered materials.
The technology behind Defunkify, a line of high-performance and environmentally friendly cleaning and deodorizing products, was first developed in 2015. The startup spun-up the brand Defunkify in 2016. It is available in 1,000 retail stores.
